外籍教师证件申请程序及其相关手续

(1). Z Visa Application 工作签证
For new teachers who come directly from abroad or the current teachers who can not extend their Residence Permit in time before they leave for vacation: you need to apply for a new Z visa(again) during the vacation according to the procedure below:
(1) Applying time：about two months earlier before you come to China
(2) Documents we need from you sent by email：CV，passport，degree，draft contract.
Note: please tell us at which Chinese Embassy or Consulate you will apply for your visa.
(3) Documents you will receive from us about 40 days later by EMS: "Working Permit" and "Invitation letter"
(4) Visa application: then please go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate with these two documents to apply for your Z visa and then you can come to Mianyang. Your family members also need it.

(2) Residence Permit Application 居留许可
★This is very important for teachers holding a "Z" visa. Please read it very carefully：
After you get your Z visa and enter China Mainland, you must apply for your Residence Permit within 30 days of entry to avoid illegal stay and penalty (500RMB per day, paid by yourself). The exact application procedure is as follows:
(1)Within 2 days of entry:
Please go to the International Exchange Office to sign your formal contract and appendex of contract then check your Z visa and entry date and make a copy of them.
(2)Within 3 days of entry:
Please get a health check and a Health Certificate or hand in the original health medical report. Your family members also need it: (children younger than 18 do not need it)

You need to bring: 1. passort
2. 4 pictures (2 inch size, colored) 500RMB
If you have some old health report show them to the doctors .sometimes you can get confirmed directly.
(3)Once you get your Health Certificate, please bring the documents below to the International Exchange Office（within about 5 days of entry）:
Passport, Health Certificate, 4 pictures/person (2 inch size, colored)
The International Office will post them to Sichuan Provincial Foreign Experts Administration Bureau to apply for your Foreign Experts Certificate(FEC). It takes about 7-10 days to get after submitting these documents back from Chengdu.
(4) Once we got your passport back from Chengdu, we will return it to you. Then you should go to the local police station branch ("Pai Chu Suo") for your apartment to prepare an address form (i.e. Temporary Residence Registration Form). You should bring your passport. Your family members also need the address form，one form per person.
(5) Within 30 days of entry: please bring your address forms and passports to the International Office. The International Office will send them to the Exit & Entry Administration Department of PSB of Mianyang to apply for your Residence Permit. And it takes 7 days to get them back.
★The Foreign Experts Certificate and Residence Permit are commonly valid for only one year, so you need to extend them every year following the procedure below:
Residence Permit Extension:
If you renew your contract with DONGCHEN, you must extend your Residence Permit about 20 days earlier before it expires. Or if you need to leave for vacation before it expires, you must extend it about 30 days earlier before you leave. Please bring the documents below to the International Exchange Office：
Passport, Foreign Experts Certificate, valid Health Certificate,new address form, 4 pictures/person (2 inch size, colored)
The International Office will apply for extension of your Foreign Experts Certificate in the local municipal government (takes about 7 days) and then extend your Residence Permit in Entry and Exit of Police Station (takes 7 days).
Please note:
(1) As the International Office also needs your new contract to extend your Foreign Experts Certificate, please make sure that you have signed your new contract with DONGCHEN
(2) The Health Certificate is also commonly valid for only one year or 6 months. Please confirm with the International Office whether it has expired or not beforehand. If it is still valid, you do not need to make a new one. If it is already expired, you will need to do a health check again and make a new Health Certificate.
(3) If you can not extend your residence permit in time before you leave, you can only apply for a new Z visa during the vacation. Please see the Z visa application procedure.
(3). About Living in the apartment
1. Room key: Once you live in the apartment, the staff will ask you to sign a list of inventory and then give you the key. you should pay a deposit of 100RMB for the key. When you finish living there, please, return the key to them and get your 100RMB back.
2. Kitchen utensils : You can use the kitchen attached to your room. Phone bill and internet: You do not need to pay for water or electricity or the Internet, but you should pay for the telephone bill if you live there。.

4. Home visit: For the sake of security and public order, visitors should register at the front desk if the staff requires him/her to do so. And please do not invite students to your room, and do not invite more than 8 friends to your room at one time, to keep the noise level down..
